We wrote a blog post about this camera, read it here.

The Canonet 28 is a classic 35mm rangefinder camera with a sharp 45mm f2.8 lens. It's a fully auto-exposure camera that requires a battery for its exposure meter. The Canonet 28 also allows manual setting of the f-stop (there's a fixed shutter speed of 1/30 in this mode) for either creative control or the use of flash.

We tested this camera with film and it worked great. We tested the rangefinder at a variety of distances and we found it to be very accurate.

Battery information

This camera was modified to use an ordinary 357 (also called SR44) silver oxide battery. It originally used hard-to-find 675 cells. A 357 battery is available as an option. These batteries typically last between one and three years in typical use.

Condition notes

The camera was tested with film and delivered sharp, well-exposed images. It is in very good cosmetic condition as well. We replaced the light seals and cleaned internal viewfinder and rangefinder glass and mirrors.
